Webcams in the Smoky Mountains
The next best thing to being here in the Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge may just be taking a peek at the latest weather and views around the area. Webcams to the rescue.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park has four cams running in the park, at these locations:
- Look Rock – At the western edge of the national park this observation tower looks east across most of the park, with Mt. LeConte in the center of the horizon. Look Rock is also a great place to visit and can be reached from a scenic drive along Foothills Parkway.
- Clingmans Dome – Closer to the center of the park, this cam looks west across the park from the famous observation tower straddling the border between the states and known for its fabulous views.
- Newfound Gap – One of the most popular drives to view the Smoky Mountains is Hwy 441 from Gatlinburg, TN to Cherokee, NC. Newfound Gap is one of the passes across the mountain chain and in fall offers stunning views of the colors. This is another cam straddling the border, and this one faces southeast into North Carolina.
- Purchase Knob – On the southeaster edge of the park, this cam looks to the northeast over North Carolina and some of Tennessee.
Up on the mountain gazing at the great vistas surrounding Gatlinburg is this cam at Anakeesta.
While up on the Space Needle looking down on Gatlinburg is a controllable cam at the top of the town that lets you see both ways along Parkway and towards the national park.
And up at Ober Gatlinburg if you’re missing those slopes, check out the live cam – Ober has two cams currently, one panning out across the valley, and one focused on the action on the slopes.
And for a close up view of the bustle on Parkway in Gatlinburg, here’s a cam from the Mountain Mall.
TIP: Wherever you drive in the area to see these views, it can be close to your cabin. We have rental cabins all over the area, including Wears Valley cabins, as well as our Gatlinburg cabins and our Pigeon Forge cabin rental.
And remember that romance in the Smoky Mountains is made perfect with one of our Gatlinburg honeymoon cabins.
